Here are answers to some of the most frequently-asked questions.
Q. How do I get started?
A. Just fill out the online enrollment form and submit to us. We will contact you with the next step -- sending your information.
Q. How long am I obligated to remain on the program?
A. You are on day-to-day. There is no enrollment period commitment.
Q. How do you determine the maintenance schedule for my customers?
A. Actually, you will do that. On the enrollment form, you have choices of how many mailings you want to make. The recommended oil change schedule would be every three months. If you sign up for inspection reminders, we will capture that information and send out the yearly reminder when it is due.
Q. Why do I need to send in customer information once the data base is built?
A. Your customer list is dynamic -- people move and change vehicles all the time. We need this information to keep your list accurate, and we want to see those dates of visits so we can purge those who are not responding to your mailings.
Q. What do I do with returned postcards from the post office?
A. DO NOT THROW AWAY! These cards tell us a customer has moved, and we need to know that. We will adjust our records based on the information on the card so we ask that these be returned, or you can call in the information.
Q. Should I remove repeat customers from the work I send?
A. No. If a customer is using your shop for repairs, we want to keep him current. If we get information that is the same as what's in the computer, we only update the date of visit.
Q. What costs are associated with this program?
A. Unlike other programs out there, there are no hidden costs such as modem charges, postal reserve funds, or hefty minimum usage fees. You pay for what you use. There is an initial set-up charge of $99.98 and a monthly management charge of $16.95. After that, it is only $.69 per first-class postcard, no matter what card or how many.
Q. What do I get for the $16.95 monthly fee?
A. There are a lot of services that come with that charge. We send your list four times a year for the National Change of Address update. This returns to us the addresses of all the people who have moved within the last 48 months. We update your account and provide you with a printout of those moves. We run your addresses through mail software that will standardize addresses and print the postal barcode on the postcard so your card has the greatest chance of getting to your customer. We have other checks in place such as flagging duplicate license plates and out of state addresses. We also monitor your account for fleet accounts or businesses that should be excluded (for example, other service centers).
Q. How safe is my customer list with you?
A. The customer list you supply to us is kept strictly confidential. We will not disclose any of the information without your permission.
